setting the mood - incorporating therapist concerns
Therapists can also become distracted by thought about what to say, is the session going OK, am I saying enough or too much, am I confident enough?
By accepting the possibility of these concerns, and incorporating them as an acceptable part OF the experience, the therapist can allow their focus to be on the client's experience also.

Yes, I was glad to hear this as I tend to be pretty self-conscious at this point. The parts about assuring them they know more than they think are very good.
I agree with Mary on this one. And as therapists, getting back to the client is far more important for us anyway
Thanks Rob I have been in these positions before. Now I have a way remaining more confident.
This was really helpful. Your guidance and examples help us to get off on the right foot!
